The greatest Russian scientist in the region hypersonic missilesthe director of the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Oleksandr Shiplyuk, was arrested on charges of treason.

This is reported by the Russian propaganda agencies TASS and RIA Novosti.

According to Vasyl Fomin, the scientific head of the Institute, the physicist was placed in the Lefortovo pre-trial detention center in Moscow. He is accused of treason.

As reported on the institute’s website, Shiplyuk heads a technological laboratory with unique wind tunnels specially created to simulate hypersonic conditions.

On June 27, Anatoliy Maslov, the chief researcher of the Institute, was detained. He is suspected of passing on state secret information related to hypersonic missiles.

On June 30, the Novosibirsk court arrested another scientist – Dmytro Kolker, an employee of the Institute of Laser Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

He was charged with treason for allegedly collaborating with China’s security services. Kolker, who was diagnosed with stage four cancer, died while being transferred from the detention center.

As UNIAN wrote, during events in honor of the Russian Navy, Vladimir Putin announced that the hypersonic Zircon missile, which allegedly “has no analogues in the world,” will be delivered to the Navy in the near future. But in the fighting capacity of “Zirkon” are more than strongly doubted even in Russian expert circles.
