"Голос Бущини"
The exhibition “Maestro Oleksa Novakivsky in the context of today’s Lviv” will be presented on Tuesday, March 1, at the Lviv Regional Council’s municipal institution. Among the exhibits are works from the collections of artists, from private collections, as well as from the works of teachers and students of the Lviv National Academy of Arts.
This exhibition is the first event in a series of events on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Oleksa Novakivsky (1872 – 1935).
According to Ivanna Novakivska, an art critic and researcher at the Mykhailo Hrushevsky Museum in Lviv, the exhibition will feature works by more than 50 Lviv authors of different generations, including Roman Selsky, Volodymyr Patyk, Lubomyr Medvid, Ivan Marchuk, Andriy Bokotey, Zenovia Flint, Oleg Minko. Lesia Krypyakevych, Ivan Ostafiychuk, Roman Vasylyk, Volodymyr Rybotytsky, Vasyl Bazhai, Yevhen Ravsky, Mykhailo Bokotey, Mykola Shymchuk, Mykhailo Demtsyu, Borys Buryak, Petro Sypnyak, Roman Yatsiv.
The show includes paintings, sculptural compositions, art glass, metal, ceramics and textiles from Oleksa Novakivsky’s students, followers of his creative style, meters of contemporary Lviv art, creators of modern conceptual art.
It will be recalled that the Lviv Regional Council declared 2022 the Year of Novakivsky.
