The Russians are hiding heavy weapons between the nuclear power plants

In occupied Energodar, there is panic due to the recent shelling of the Zaporizhzhya NPP, which is located in the city, the Russians are hiding heavy weapons between the power units.

This was said by the mayor of Energodar, Dmytro Orlov, on the air of the telethon.

“Of course, there is panic in the city and we understand that now there will be the next wave of people wanting to evacuate to the territory controlled by the Armed Forces,” he said.

According to the mayor, part of the city was left without power supply due to shelling.

Orlov noted that the occupiers hide a lot of weapons at the station, which are used near nuclear power units.

“They hide heavy weapons, that is, salvo missile systems, between the power units. That is, they move away a little and fire at the opposite side of the Dnipro, the city of Nikopol, Marganets, and the Zaporizhzhia direction. And then they hide these systems between the power units,” he explained.

“This may become the next problem in providing specialists who operate nuclear power plants,” he said.

As UNIAN reported, on August 5, Russian invaders four times fired at the Zaporizhzhia NPP. They aimed at the high-voltage communication line of the 330 kV VRP autotransformer of the Zaporizhzhya TPP. As a result, it was damaged, emergency protection was triggered on one of the power units, diesel generators were switched on. This unit is currently unloaded and disconnected from the power grid.

After the shelling by the occupiers of the Zaporizhia NPP, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on countries to apply tough sanctions against the entire of the Russian nuclear industry. According to him, Russia should bear responsibility for the very fact of creating a nuclear power plant threat.
