To the question of whether Ukrainians do not have overly optimistic expectations of the future counteroffensive, the spokesman of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhiy Cherevaty answered: “You need to be optimistic, but optimists based on reality. Therefore, in view of this, you need to look at the retrospective – what we achieved it in a year. We managed to hold the capital, push back the enemy from it. Push back the enemy from the north, from Kharkiv region, from Liman and from Kherson.”
According to him, the counteroffensive will take place when all the necessary components for the counteroffensive are in place.
“However, we just need to work carefully, each in his place, maintain the unity of society and the army, society and the military-political leadership, and simply work each in his own area. And when we have all the necessary components for a counteroffensive, these are coordinated trained reserves, which will have new equipment, and will be able to attack the enemy and inflict a decisive defeat on him, and after that to push back from the entire territory of Ukraine”, – noted a military man on the air of an information telethon.
