"Взгляд из Одессы"

Hero of Ukraine Valery Samofalov was buried in Odessa. This was reported in the press service of the 35th separate marine infantry brigade named after Rear Admiral Mikhail Ostrogradsky. The Navy was born and raised in the city of Zaporozhye.
He served in the 137th Separate Marine Infantry Battalion, as part of the 35th Separate Marine Infantry Brigade.
On March 5, 2022, while defending the Nikolaev area, he destroyed three enemy Mi-55 helicopters using Igla MANPADS. By decree of the President of Ukraine, he was awarded the title Hero of Ukraine with the award of the order “Golden Star”.
Valery died on March 18 in a rocket attack on Nikolaev. He was buried in the alley of heroes in the western cemetery of the city of Odessa. The hero has a wife and a small child who live on the territory of the Dachna community.
The Vhorode portal recalled that two residents of the Odessa region – Oleg Volyn from Teplodar and Igor Golyaka from the village of Privetnoe – died during the Russian-Ukrainian war.
